Vuolukivi, new at Cersaie 2007, presented by Eiffelgres
Through millions of years of slow progressions, nature has created Steatite, an ollar stone which is extremely workable yet compact, resistant to variations in temperature and noise pollution, widely used in Northern Europe.
The Eiffelgres laboratories have performed in-depth research into Steatite to create Vuolukivi, technical porcelain slabs which combine eco-compatible design with the elegance of Italian style, offering new opportunities to bio-architecture.
Vuolukivi inhabits silence, surrounds itself with a motionless tranquillity, and allows nature to expand into buildings, bringing with it the strength of stone and its protective embrace, while saving the resources generously granted by the natural world.
It is a high-tech product which actually improves the functional performance of ollar stone, using only natural raw materials and processes, in perfect harmony with all the demands of ecocompatible design.
The Vuolukivi collection is available in three sizes, 60x60, 60x30 and 30x30, 11 mm thick, rectified and calibered, and complete with strips, decorative tiles and trims; the surface finish may be natural, gloss or bush-hammered.
Vuolukivi, materials for use absolutely anywhere, thanks to their outstanding resistance to wear, abrasion, frost and chemicals, can meet architectural design needs in contexts of widely varying styles and with different contaminations of materials: glass, wood, resins and metals.
