The 2013 Eiffelgres Catalogue based on a design by Mauro Bellei features new graphics designed to make it quick and easy to locate collections and information of interest.
The leitmotif of the new design is a line which starts on the cover and goes into the catalogue, running through its pages to join together the various sections making up the catalogue - Estyle, Estone, laser and water jet cut decorations, Megamicro panels – now all contained in a single volume.
As a geometric figure, the line is what defines the shape of an object, in this case a porcelain tile, or its outline; but it can also be a very subtle mark laser engraved on its surface.
The line represents a tension which becomes a design. It is the starting point for the collections included in Estyle, the mark made by an action that makes the past legible in slabs of Estone, inspired by natural stones.
A line which, however narrow, still has a minimum thickness, like Megamicro, the collection including the world’s biggest high-tech ceramic tiles, which are however ultra-thin, almost like a line when seen in profile.
The line is also an abstract concept with a tangible meaning. Eiffelgres has its own line defining its identity: a line combining creativity with technology and ecology, the elements inspiring and creating the qualities of its products.

When we say “mega”, we mean the biggest porcelain stoneware slabs ever made: a surface measuring 3000 mm x 1500 mm, with a “micro” thickness of only 6 mm. This is the technology that produced MM_Folios and MM_Timber.

MM_Folios tiles recall the texture and delicate hues of certain types of sheet metal, and are available in three different shades - Folios Nero, Folios Grigio and Folios Bianco – with two surface finishes - matt and glossy. The collection, available in different sizes, is completed with special Flowers and Arazzo tiles. Suitable for any kind of room, MM_Folios is recommended for floors, walls and work surfaces such as tables, kitchen countertops, etc. Its dimensions are ideal for covering large surfaces while minimising gaps.

MM_Timber is the perfect reproduction, in the 240x20 cm size, of a strip of wood in five different hues: Timber White, Timber Avana, Timber Brown, Timber Grey, Timber Black. The MM_Timber line combines the natural look of wood with the dependability of porcelain stoneware, making this material suitable for any kind of room. Its reduced thickness optimises workability even while maintaining strength.

The new Eiffelgres showroom, situated in the exhibition area of the headquarters of the Iris/GranitFiandre group in Fiorano Modenese, occupies an area of about 260 square metres.
It was organised by the architect Mauro Bellei in such a way as to show off the collections by installing four two-faced partitions coated with slabs of porcelain stoneware of different formats and some panels created with the Eiffelgres material which, as in an art gallery, are placed along the longitudinal walls of the premises.
The view of the whole range is completed, on the side opposite to the entrance, by an arrangement of strips measuring 10 x 60 cm on a tilted surface that looks to visitors like a sort of lectern.
The latest collection, Pillart, has been chosen for lining and creating the flooring of the entrance area. The composition designed for the flooring is particularly impressive. It is the result of processing based on cutting with a water-jet that places the two tones – Positive and Negative – and the two finishes – Naturale (natural) and Aspera (rough) – in contrast with one another, arranging them so as to form a pattern of stripes converging towards the centre in an amusing pattern of perspectives.

Architect Mauro Bellei has been Eiffelgres artistic director for some years now, and this is made perfectly clear in the volume “Il progetto dello scoiattolo” (“The squirrel project”), published recently by Corraini, Bruno Munari’s publisher. An interview with Beppe Finessi published in the book reveals a number of similarities between Bologna architect Mauro Bellei and Bruno Munari, the figure who inspired him to create his prestigious “PillArt” collection, which Eiffelgres presented in September 2011.
Our brand plays an important role in the book; the image appearing on the cover represents an idea Bellei came up with for Eiffelgres.
Beyond its cover, “Il progetto dello scoiattolo” reveals that every Eiffelgres project is accompanied by in-depth research, whether it be the launch of a new collection or the way in which it is proposed. This may be seen in the reference to the “Sensible” collection launched in 2009, linking the production technology used to make porcelain stoneware with the effects created by light (pages 32 and 33), and in “Architetture di sassi” ("Stone architectures"), an iconographic representation Bellei designed to present and link natural stones and the Eiffelgres collections they inspire (pages 50 and 51), or the unusual experience of studying light fixtures for the “Elle” series combining porcelain stoneware with led lighting (pages 34 and 35).

In September and October Eiffelgres and its new Pillart collection appeared at some of the most important exhibitions for the world of construction and interior decoration. The 47th Saie International Building Exhibition which recently ended focused on a theme of great importance to the industry: promotion of an environmentally sustainable approach to design, in terms of both energy savings and use of environmentally compatible materials. Eiffelgres has adapted to the standards dictated by regulations regarding reduction of environmental impact for many years now, and has obtained some of the world’s most important certifications, such as Anab and Leed.
Cersaie and Architect at Work are two trade fairs of a different kind, focusing on the latest new developments by manufacturers of ceramic materials and the world of interior decoration, respectively. Eiffelgres has been appearing at these events for several years now, and marked its tenth anniversary by presenting a porcelain stoneware collection making the most of the brand’s vocation for supplying new ideas for floor and wall coverings. The Pillart collection includes a range of decorative pieces on mesh backing and laser-cut tiles permitting creation of an unlimited range of different compositions, including strips, mosaics and decorations such as Comp 4, a tile divided into four parts which may be assembled into an infinite variety of shapes.

Eiffelgres is 10 years old: a milestone that marks a new starting point, if we consider the company’s growth, in terms of production and sales, since it was founded in 2001.

Ongoing research at all stages from conception of new collections to manufacture of materials in a plant employing technologically advanced machinery has allowed Eiffelgres to guarantee quality technical stoneware with the aesthetic value of its unique style for the past decade.

The company’s tenth anniversary offers an opportunity to consider the goals it has achieved thanks to the combination of human effort and productive technology. The result of this work is the technical stoneware Eiffelgres produces and presents with new collections every year. But one of the aspects best representing the commitment and satisfaction of the people who work for Eiffelgres is achievement of certification under strict environmental quality standards, obtained by all its materials through environmental sustainability certificates such as Anab, Leed, Breeam and Hqe.

Eiffelgres’ new website is finally online, featuring new graphics and a wealth of new content. Russian and Dutch will be added to the website’s languages in 2011.
All the information you could want on the brand and its porcelain stoneware collections, divided into six sections taking you to web pages which are clear and easy to understand thanks to simple, direct graphics.
The pages on the “collections”, introduced with a number of images, including some prestigious references, projects in which Eiffelgres ceramic materials have been preferred by architects and designers in Europe and in the rest of the world, constitute a true identity card for our materials. Users may download catalogues and documents on the products’ certifications and technical properties for use, clear explanations of the colour palette and range of sizes, surfaces, decorations and special pieces available, making our website an effective tool for anyone interested in technical porcelain stoneware tiles.
The website’s graphics, consistently with the severity of the new Eiffelgres brand image, are perfectly in line with those of the new 2011 General Catalogue, maintaining the formula of a boxed set of two volumes introduced last year.
Proposals that continue to be offered in 2011: a Collections volume containing complete information on Eiffelgres’ Estyle and Estone lines and the Art&Work catalogue, offering an in-depth look with a wealth of images illustrating all the decorations available in the range, such as water jet and laser cut mosaic pieces. Both volumes are contained in a black canvas Ebox.
“Getting rid of the superfluous in design and architecture to open up the path to contemporary style. Everything we do is inspired by this clear principle, touching on the emotional chords that can improve quality of life for everyone”. This is how the 2011 catalogue begins, marking a decade of history for Eiffelgres, designed and produced by art director architect Mauro Bellei.

The main exhibition space is divided into separate areas created with walls covered with porcelain stoneware tiles of various sizes, arranged at different levels on the vertical surfaces like hypothetical dividing walls as if the spaces were rooms for different uses.
The walls rising from the raised or floating floors are covered with tiles laid either by the traditional technique or with the ventilated façade technique, often considered an architectural benefit and a design solution suitable for protecting the outside of the building.
The Sensible collection and the works of Sol Lewitt will share a single space and the attention of the many architects and designers who will be attending “Sol Lewitt Vernissage” in Cologne in April 23.
During “Art Cologne”, the one-week modern and contemporary art fair held at the Cologne Exhibition Centre April 21 through 25, Sensible will encounter the works of the artist who inspired the design of the collection at The New Yorker Hotel.
Sol Lewitt is one of the most important members of the Conceptual Art movement and the man who came up with a true manifesto on the subject: his “Paragraphs on Conceptual Art”, published in 1967. He firmly supported and expressed in his art the idea that art, as the product of a mental rather than a practical process, should have a certain degree of independence from the form in which it reaches its audience.
For a conceptual artist such as Sol Lewitt, the medium through which a work of art is presented, or the context in which it is located, must involve some form of interaction with the spectator, viewed as an active entity. A catalogue, an invitation to an event or an ordinary postcard can take the place of an art exhibition or form a part of its context, consolidating the concept of art as a medium for providing information.
The books presented at the Cologne event, from Egidio Marzona’s collection, offer very important testimony to Sol Lewitt’s work, in the form of first editions dating from the ‘60s and ’70s, most of which were personally overseen by the American artist.

Lightness has won at Superstudio’s Studio 2. Eiffelgres suggests another way of presenting porcelain stoneware tiles. The product becomes even more active and dynamic for the occasion. This is why we feel like we’re going into some kind of strange gym in which products are suspended from wall bars and lowered from above. A gym for exercising the muscles of thought and giving ideas a good workout. This is where Eiffelgres presents Sensible, a collection designed by Mauro Bellei focusing on the theme of light, establishing a direct dialogue with light in this event.
All we need to do is focus on a part of a Sensible tile and walk around it to realise that as we change our point of view, its textures may be emphasised or disappear entirely so that it becomes a uniform solid colour.

New 2010 GENERAL CATALOGUE

From advertising graphics to the appearance of company spaces and the final form of a product, a brand with a recognisable, consistent style is the best guarantee of product quality and reliability in the consumer’s eye. The AEG technicians in Berlin already knew this in the early twentieth century when they appointed P. Behrens to produce the company’s first catalogues and brochures, later assigning him the task of designing its workspaces and showrooms as well as a number of its products. And Adriano Olivetti knew this in Ivrea in the nineteen-thirties, when, with the aid of prominent personalities on the arts scene of his day, he introduced a true concept of market image for his company’s products.

When Eiffelgres approaches the design of an apparently simple item such as a General Catalogue, it is aware how important brand image is for prestige, and this is why the company pursues its goals for aesthetic and technical quality every year, backed up by professionals with skills in a variety of areas.

The Eiffelgres 2010 Catalogue is different from the catalogues of previous years in format, for it is no longer rectangular but almost square in shape, and in the fact that it is divided into two separate volumes: a General Catalogue and an Art&Work Catalogue. The two are contained in a cloth-covered case intended for the desk or library. Both the General Catalogue, containing all the technical information on Eiffelgres porcelain stoneware collections, plus countless images of floors and walls, and Art&Work, dedicated entirely to the great variety of laser or water jet cut decorations available assembled on mesh backing, have a white cover which folds over with an inside flap. The model on which the two volumes and their box are based is the art book.

Clear, easy to find information makes for a good catalogue, while attention to detail, balanced forms, and identification and connotation of specific stylistic forms make it an object of design.

This international event is an essential date for architects and retailers. Ceramic materials, particularly porcelain stoneware such as that produced by Eiffelgres, is used on floors, walls and, increasingly often, as an outdoor finish on buildings with ventilated façades. Technical porcelain stoneware offers all the technical dependability and aesthetic quality required of materials used in architecture in a single material.

Close observation of two particular themes and their subsequent superimposition gives rise to the textures distinguishing the Sensible collection. The Sign surface is inspired by the geometry of a very precise form of artistic expression linked with conceptual use of pure sign, which in the case of Sensible Sign lightly etches the surfaces to create distinct perceptive readings which vary depending on the origin of the light and the observer’s point of view. In Sensible Rise, wiry forms emerge out of the depths, like the roots of certain plants that come up out of the earth, or an object rising up to the surface of the water: only a part of either is visible.
With Sensible, Eiffelgres turns to the most various and curious products of nature, reinterpreting them in the vocabulary of art. With technology it then manages to mould the ideas, sensations and impressions of matter.
The tiles in the Sensible collection, expressly oriented toward dialogue with contemporary architecture, are made with selected earths and minerals, skilfully dosed and mixed, offered in the sizes 90x60, 90x30, 90x15, 60x60 and 60x30 cm, 11 mm thick, with a single gauge, squared-off and ground, with three surface finishes: Sign, Rise, Bushhammered.
Sensible combines excellent aesthetic quality, achieved using pure selected blends, with ultra-high technical performance thanks to advanced industrial processes and careful controls.
The entire collection, in six colours and three surface finishes, is perfectly suited to creation of floor and wall coverings for both residential and commercial settings or for public places requiring not only high aesthetic quality but top technical performance, meaning dependability and safety.

A great commercial success and a prestigious new reference for Eiffelgres.

French automobile maker Citroën chose tiles from Eiffelgres’ PIETRALAVICA collection for the restyling of its international showroom, combining the excellence of Italian style in top of the range interior finishes with the talent for automobile design of France’s number one automobile maker.

Founded in 1919 by André Citroën, the well-known automobile maker in the PSA Peugeot Citroën group has always been the pride and joy of French industry for the creativity and advanced technologies that go into its production.
The same ingredients have allowed Eiffelgres to rise to a prestigious position among makers of porcelain stoneware in the Modena area in only a few years.

Eiffelgres and Citroën have always stood out for environmental awareness in their respective industries.
After the 1995 electric AX, the first milestone demonstrating the double chevron’s commitment to the environment, the commercial launch of the anti-particulate filter and the “Stop&Start”, the company now sets the standard for reduction of polluting emissions with the Airdream brand.
At the same time, Eiffelgres started out with ISO 14001 certification and went on to achieve ANAB building biology certification, NF-UPEC, and now membership in the Green Building Council of Italy, recognising its values in the Leed construction system (percentage of recycled material used in production, 40% by weight).
And so it only makes sense that the backdrop for the Citroën range should be the Darkgrey, Pearlgrey and Brown hues from the Pietralavica collection by Italian company Eiffelgres, inspired by the genius of Alexander-Gustave Eiffel: a man who produced designs on an immense scale that fit harmoniously into their setting. Eiffelgres has already been installed in Citroën showrooms the world over.

Eiffelgres, a division of the Iris Ceramica Spa group, is honoured to show off the sophisticated technology and great value of Citroën’s cars with its technical porcelain stoneware.
Pietralavica was chosen over numerous competing products as a modern, contemporary material with a particular vocation for use in public places requiring easy to clean flooring that can bear high stress. All this with, of course, an immediate aesthetic impact representing an evolution of natural lava, with the softness of gentle curved lines to add motion to its surface and create subtle reflections.

Eiffelgres will be at SPADESIGN, the spa design and materials exhibition scheduled for the FUORI SALONE week in Milan.

Four exclusive theme projects by four architects present different reflections on the home wellness concept, with design solutions characterised by customised use of materials and design.

In this project by Alberto Apostoli, Eiffelgres supplied porcelain stoneware to cover the walls and floor of the suite. Strips from the Autentika Snow collection frame and elegantly contrast with the central part of the floor, formed of a "waterfall" ornament from the Lastranera collection. The elliptical mosaic, harmoniously incorporated in a space dominated by curved lines, underlines the suite's atmosphere through design. The showers on either side feature the bubble ornament on the shower tray, while the curved wall is covered with special "wall" pieces laid vertically to recall flowing water.

In the wellness bathroom designed by architect Scaglia, cleaner lines regulate the spatial geometry. Contrasts and transparencies are underlined by tone-on-tone hues characterising the colour scheme of the Atmosphere collection, with tiles measuring 10x60 laid on the floor.

In the suite architect Alberto Apostoli has designed especially for golf fans, the word extra-luxurious signifies practicality, advanced technology, comfort and harmony.

The suite’s prestige lies not only in the abandonment of ornamentation, of ostentation at any cost, but in the concept inspiring the project as a whole.
The balance tying together every element in the design through forms, colours and light is enough to make the Personal Golf Resort a highly exclusive place.

Eiffelgres supplied the perfect material for floor and wall tiles: Autentika. The collection, in snow and greenrais, is harmoniously measured with lines regulating the designed space. Characterised by colour schemes rich in detail, luminescence and varieties of hue recalling the expressive force of natural materials, dressing up space in soft, muted hues that contribute to the suite’s relaxing atmosphere.

The possibilities Eiffelgres offers for custom-designed projects with its materials have permitted creation of personalised finishes for interior design. The curves of the bubble motif, a mosaic of circular pieces mounted on mesh, soften the space and bring to mind the roundness of the golf ball, or the circumference of the hole.

The name of the event, HOLE IN ONE, laser-engraved on the Eiffelgres tiles at the entrance, further underlines the versatility and practicality that a material like solid porcelain stoneware can offer the many expressions of design and the demands of contemporary architecture.

Eiffelgres porcelain stoneware is by nature an aesthetically “rich” material that has evolved out of Italian know-how, guaranteeing the excellence of its performance.

The latest Eiffelgres projects in France
confirm a dialogue based on aesthetic appeal and quality

It is thanks to the constant revision of its catalogue in terms of both technical and aesthetic content with a view to continuing its stream of dialogue with the world's architects that Eiffelgres is able to vaunt such prestigious projects in France, particularly in the large-scale distribution sector.

The products manufactured at the Eiffelgres Viano plant have been introduced on the French market with the precise aim of addressing increasingly specific needs stemming from the creative flair of architects, interior decorators and designers whose task is not only to make the large areas in shopping centres, offices and other buildings welcoming and comfortable, but also attractive.

This is what Leclerc had in mind for its Altkirch centre. In Eiffelgres' Pietralavica Brown and Pietralavica Darkgrey products it found the perfect answer to two very different problems: a suitable type of flooring for areas subject to heavy foot traffic, such as galleries, and food departments, where trolleys with heavy loads are used.
Hence, not only a question of exceptional technical quality, but also an aesthetic appeal studied right down to the last detail. Auchan, for example, opted for Bianco Luna, Delfin Coto and Samarcanda for its Poitier shopping centre, its choice from three different collections leading to a highly original result. Super U, on the other hand, focused on just two shades in the same material (Pietralavica Chocolate and Pietralavica Starwhite) for its Thouars shopping centre, and succeeded in creating the first shopping centre in compliance with France's stringent environmental legislation.

To provide France's architects, designers and decorators with ongoing support Eiffelgres has developed a capillary network across the country, focusing on wholesale distributors of materials for major construction. In fact projects designed to accommodate the public at large represent around 80% of construction operations that use Eiffelgres products. Large shopping centres, banks, hotels and shops as well as hospitals and even an army base, are the main building types. They also make for an effective showcase given the fact that since their construction many architects have elected to include the same products in residential contexts as well. The underlying theme of all these projects is modern, contemporary style, coupled with the unique technical features of Eiffelgres' products.

The products of the Fiorano Modenese-based firm have in actual fact passed the stringent tests set by France's Ministry of Internal Affairs and thanks to these characteristics, the company was chosen as the supplier for the construction of military buildings in Paris. So, it is quality that gives rise to a privileged dialogue with architects, who are aware that they can count on the same characteristics in all of Eiffelgres' materials and, for this very reason, are broadening their range of use for products and exploring new fields of application.

The Eiffelgres General Catalogue 2008 - An architectural work that speaks the same language as architects and interior designers

A return to the roots of materials to establish a deeper dialogue with interior designers and architects: this is the main objective of the Eiffelgres General Catalogue, which has been available since February 2008.

This explains why the publication opens with such interesting artistic works as "slabs in movement that lend themselves to different scenarios," explains Carlo Ravazzini, managing director of Eiffelgres. To underscore the contents he adds: "The deconstruction illustrated is visible in even fragments, but becomes functional upon the subsequent construction of light, ethereal compositions pregnant with meaning. The end result is no longer locked within itself, but leaves scope for interaction which links seemingly distant multiple layers of reality. It is almost as though nature and urban craftsmanship were driven by a dynamic common core, bringing surfaces to life and causing them to vibrate like a sensitive skin."

This is a veritable architectural work that starts with the front cover, designed to interact with architects and interior designers, the brand's main targets. This novelty by Eiffelgres will soon attract attention by virtue of the innovative concept with which the entire publication is imbued. One peculiar characteristic is the acid green that catches the eye as one looks through the catalogue - the brand colour and distinguishing feature - used to draw the reader's attention to pivotal elements of information.

The focal point of the proposals of the new Eiffelgres General Catalogue for 2008 lies in the principles of Bioarchitecture and the use of biocompatible, renewable and recyclable raw materials and ones that can be broken down as documented by certification received by the company and featured in the back of catalogue.
